How I Discovered My Spiritual Gifts and Began My Tarot Journey

I have always known that I was spiritually gifted. From a very young age, I felt deeply connected to my Spirit Guides, though I didn’t yet understand the magnitude of that connection. Once I learned to channel my gifts through tarot, everything seemed to expand—my abilities, my awareness, and my purpose.

My journey began with dream interpretation as a little girl. I vividly remember being just four years old, sitting on the top bunk with my older cousin in a California valley.
She had just had a bad dream, and we sat there, concentrating, trying to unravel its meaning. Even as children, we believed there had to be a reason for her dream. We couldn’t let it go—it shook us. Over time, we worked hard to dissect it, and though it took years (this was long before Google, after all), we eventually uncovered the answers. In doing so, we unknowingly taught ourselves a skill that would become a tool for understanding dreams not only for us but also for the magical women in our family.

As I grew older, my cousin continued to guide me toward spiritual exploration. Around the age of 13 or 14, she introduced me to astrology and chakras. I initially thought it was one of her many phases, but I complied—and something within me shifted. I became fascinated. I started following horoscopes religiously, subscribing to anything that could teach me more.

However, like many Black women, I encountered a conflict. The church taught me that interpreting the heavens and following the stars was “wrong.” For a while, I turned away from astrology and immersed myself in the Baptist faith. I dedicated myself to studying the Bible. But being a Virgo, I couldn’t stop at the surface—I dove deep. I broke down the etymology of Greek and Hebrew words in the Old and New Testaments. I studied the Catholic Bible, the Jewish Torah, the Islamic Quran, Jehovah’s Witness scriptures, the Book of Mormon, Buddhist teachings, and Hindu texts.

Through all of that, I uncovered a universal truth: we are all one. No matter the faith, the culture, or the path, we are all seeking the same basic needs, in the best ways we know how.

By the time I was 19, I had read all 66 books of the Bible. Proudly, I could say, “Yes, I’ve read the entire Bible—have you?” Pompous? Perhaps. But my hunger for spiritual truth remained insatiable. Despite all my studies, I still felt spiritually unfulfilled.

What always remained constant was my family. I come from a lineage of deeply gifted women—women whose intuitive strength and spiritual wisdom shone effortlessly. I watched as others relied on them for guidance, comfort, and answers. That gift flowed through me as well.

Life took me on a journey far from my roots in California. I moved to Nevada, North Dakota, Michigan, and then beyond the U.S., living in Ontario, Canada, before settling in Newfoundland and Labrador. Through all my travels, my intuition became my compass. It never failed me.

I’ll never forget the time I left North Dakota on a blind move. I had no plan, no place to stay—just a knowing that I would be okay. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. My intuition, like the nose of a hound, has always led me true.

I am the first in my immediate family to share my gifts professionally. Though I had distant family members—an aunt and a cousin—who were natural healers and spiritual guides, I stepped into this path with purpose. When I found the tarot, I found the purest expression of my abilities.

Over the years, I have discovered who I am—and, more importantly, who I am not. I have transcended many levels of consciousness, freeing my soul and unlocking my precognitive abilities. I now stand ready to help others do the same.

I am a Shaman. A healer. A dreamer with the heart of a poet. A visionary, a lover, and a friend. I am a fighter and a champion for the brave. I am no different than you. I believe that true transformation begins with awareness, intention, and soulful conversations.

Through tarot, dream interpretation, runes, and astrology, I offer guidance to those seeking clarity, healing, and empowerment. My purpose is to help you awaken to your truth, trust your intuition, and step boldly into the life you are meant to live.
